Car Safety/Emergency Kits
Many of us spend
considerable time on the road – driving to work, ferrying kids to sports or
other activities, shopping, or business trips – so staying as safe as possible
while in your vehicle is important. If
you live in a northern state or province, you know how treacherous driving can
be during the winter, but other problems such as flooding or even extreme heat
can cause problems.
In many cases, it
would actually be fairly easy to get back on the road if you had the right
equipment. How many times have you gone
to change a flat tire only to find that the spare is also flat? A can of Tire Inflator could be the answer to
this, and will get you to a service station with hardly any interruption of
your journey. A slide into a snow bank
from an icy road can really cause a delay while you’re waiting for a tow
truck. Few of us carry a snow shovel in
the car when we leave for work, but you will be prepared for most roadside troubles
with a Road Warrior Kit. The Standard
Kit contains a folding snow shovel that can help you dig out of deep snow. All Road Warrior kits contain basic supplies
to get you moving again, including jumper cables, tow rope, and tire inflator.
Regardless of your
care and preparation, there may be times when you will find yourself stranded
on the side of the road, sometimes in severe winter weather. Always make sure that you have some emergency
supplies in the vehicle before setting out, including emergency food and water,
emergency blankets, and a way to signal that help is needed. Our kits will help to keep you safer whatever
the problem on the road, and hopefully get you moving again quickly.
One important way to
make sure that every trip is as safe as possible is to keep your car in the
best possible shape. Make sure the tires
have sufficient tread for safe travel and that all fluids are kept at the
correct level – running out of oil can actually cause your engine to fuse from
the heat produced when a lubricant is not available.
It is easy to nick a
finger or scrape a knuckle while changing a tire or working on a recalcitrant trailer
hitch. You can
easily get a burn working on a hot engine or exhaust system, too. A first aid kit can help you to treat these
minor injuries fast so that you will be able to get back to the main task
without the distraction of a wound.
